Several traits that I love about my moms is their fearlessness, their ability to prepare for the future, their DIY-ness, the way they care not only for their own immediate family but also for those around them, and... most of all her ability to balance time. Now i'm not saying that moms who DONT do all these things or ARE all these things arent amazing, but I'm just saying mom's I've known are doing these things, and i'm taking my learning lessons from them for now. 

I recently read a book called "Men Are Like Waffles and Women are like Spaghetti", it talks about how women tend to move and groove in a million directions at one given time, where as men tend to go through the day systematically. I think for mother hood the ability to clean the house, entertain your kids, shop on amazon, make a grocery list, all the while singing "the wheels on the bus go round and round" is quite an amazing feat! I'm not saying these multi-tasking skills are limited to mom's alone, because I know many dads who take on those roles as well. But for the now we're celebrating moms. So when I hear of how my moms are creating the next Star Wars themed bedroom for their kids, or putting together a photobooth for their daughter's first birthday, AND doing all of the things above, I am so amazed!!!!

I recently asked one of my mom's "how do you do it". And their answer? "It's instinct, you just want to make your kids & family happy". I guess that saying "a happy wife is a happy life", stands true to "a happy kid is a happy mommy which also makes a happy wife for that happy life". lol!!!! I'm not sure, but I'll find out soon enough once Katzy and I have a child of our own.

One other thing I really admire about moms is the way they think ahead. To plan their kid's schooling, to choose the best place for child care, to plan the next family trip, planning planning planning. I feel like even as a newly wed, I myself am constantly planning, so I can't imagine how much more planning motherhood will be. I think we all want a "great" life, and to make a difference in the world whether it be through a non profit, our community, or a friend... but I think the most important difference we can make as newlyweds and moms, I learned is to remember we're that catalyst to bring a difference in our family's lives, and it's ok that we're not doing EVERYTHING that's on the list. As a great Pinterest photo once said "Let go and Let God..." do the rest.
