Jesse knew his bride Becca deserved only the best, and this was the best that he could find for her. He said (and it shows out of every part of his being) that she deserves this and sooooooo much more. I believe it. They both have such incredible testimonies of how their love came about, and also how redemptive their marriage was to their families. A celebration to commemorate the occasion was only fitting. Thank you Kimpton Shore Break Hotel for making their stay so incredible. And can I just say the ocean view from their room was 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

The first time I chatted with Becca I heard her share about a recent loss in the family, along with nearly lifetime of hardship. Then she met Jesse who swept her up in his generously loving arms and helped her heal inside out. We teared up, laughed, and connected in a way that made me envision only the most beautiful captures for their elopement. They were traveling all the way from Seattle to elope on the beach of Huntington. And I felt so honored to be chosen by them. She then described her dress and shoes to me (cause I always ask), and she mentioned she found the most glittery pumps ever. And the moment she said GLITTER even my eyes sparkled LOL! I love me some good glitter. (Trust me... I would know... ask all of my bridesmaids...). When I got to see her shoes in person, and when she said that she rarely dresses up, not to mention wear makeup or anything remotely glittery, I felt in the deepest of my heart that what seemed like a total “opposite” choice in shoes, is really just an outward sign of healing in her heart. To see literally her come alive when she showed me the shoes and also put them on... it was seriously a moment of beauty for ashes. I saw the past left far behind her... and the realization that she doesn’t have to live in that in any made her radiate a beauty incomparable to any other.

These two represent the epitome of renewal, joy, kindness, and love. Not just because they glowed like sunshine on their wedding day, not just because they love each other so deeply, and also not just because it miraculously stopped raining and the sun came out for exactly the four hours that we needed... BUT BECAUSE they have endured hardships and have intentionally CHOSE to make a life that is BETTER with and for one another. I was in shock and in awe at their story. Normally my wedding inquiries are very lengthy due to the fact that I don’t shoot weddings often. Only because my selection process is long, very in-depth, and extremely selective... for this one reason. FAMILY. Weddings are beautiful and I love them, but after having a family of my own I realized that being away from my family for a whole day, and along with editing for weeks on end week after week after week after week... just wasn’t practical. But when THESE TWO EXTRAORDINARY HUMANS contacted me with their story... honestly I just sobbed. They detailed how they met and what they’ve been through... and I couldn’t help but want to capture their celebrations for their new beginnings. I’m thankful for people who still believe in love after hardships. My heart still explodes each and every time I think of these two.

In all of that I just wanted to share with any of my friends experiencing hardship, there is beauty hidden in the midst of your ashes. No matter how bleak things may seem, there’s always hope. Trust the process. Thank you Becca and Jesse for inspiring me a hope beyond words. Your love for one another truly is redemptive in all aspects of life. ❤️❤️❤️

This spot was on our top locations for bride and groom photos. Little did Becca and Jesse know... that someone had a surprise for them (I didn’t even know... swipe to see.). A sweet man visiting from Brazil came over with his classical guitar and played a ballad for them. They had a tender moment to themselves and he was so entertaining we all couldn’t help but laugh and smile so big that our faces hurt. Yes mine too. So cheers to spontaneity. I’m so glad this moment happened because it totally set the mood for the rest of their wedding day
