1. Confidence Is Key

This may sound cliche, but a professional headshot is the entryway into landing your dream job, client, contract, gig, etc. Your level of confidence is shown on your eyes and face. To muster up the confidence, get great sleep the night prior, pray/meditate, speak positive words over yourself and walk into your headshot knowing the great things about who you are! Your level of self-belief and confidence will translate through the photos and eventually through those that will be seeing your professional headshot!

2. Go For A Natural Look

While it is a great idea to get glammed up for your headshot session, do not go overboard. Go for a more natural look when it comes to hair and make-up. Guys, get a haircut, shave, and if you have a beard, get those lines straightened and cleared. Ladies, easy on the make-up and get your hair done if you struggle with frizzy hair.

3. Dress Appropriately

Clothes represent who you are to the world. Essentially it is key to your "brand". According to www.nlalorphotography.com, avoid distracting stripes and patterns, choose form-fitting clothing, bring a variety of necklines to mix up certain looks, select jewelry and accessories that won't overpower your portrait, bring a variety of light and dark colors you enjoy wearing, and anything that shows off your personal style the best! 4. Background Selection

It's important to choose a background that isn't distracting yet highlights you. You can always go with the classic black and white backdrops, outdoors for a more natural look, or even your office to subtly let people know what kind of industry you are in. We can photograph you at our studio or on-site to expand your options.
