Gideon's First Year of Life Newborn to Toddler  I cant believe 1 year passed by so quickly. I know along the way everyone kept telling me it was going to be fast but I really didnt think it would be THAT fast. I'm trying my hardest to cherish each and every moment as much as I can but I can't seem to catch up with myself at all. 

I love this kid so much that I prepared my body for years prior before having him. (Tried) To stay away from alcohol, ate as healthy as I possibly could, worked out, took prenatals, quit my day jobs, established my work from home job as a photographer, and got settled down as a at-home business owner, and housemaker. It was a great life. 

Then Gideon came into the world after nearly 24 hours in labor, 2 hours pushing, 9 months of waiting, and a whole life time of expecting... He came and just shattered my world. What I THOUGHT I knew about kids, what i THOUGHT I knew about parenting, and motherhood, and emotions, and healing, and taking your time, and loving yourself, and taking care of someone else... SHATTERED. I'm wrecked. I'm still a wreck in terms of figuring things out. But it's a good kind of wreck. 

I've learned to love even when I feel like I have NO love left to give. 
I've learned to find strength when I have ZERO strength.
I've learned to nourish even when I'm feeling undernourished myself.
I've learned to give warm even when my body isnt.
I've learned to protect even when I'm vulnerable.
And most of all I've learned to pray new prayers that I've NEVER have prayed before.

All this... because of my son Gideon. And I consider it one of the greatest blessings ever. Now I know why some families love having lots of kids. The blessings, the craziness, the tireness, the love, the fun, everything... just magnifies. But it's a good kind. The one where you look back a year, 10 year, 20 years... decades down the line and see your family tree and say to yourself... Wow... what an adventure we all had TOGETHER.

So this is to our first true adventure together as a family. With Gideon. Katzy and I couldnt have been prouder.
