Today is the day I’ve look forward to and dreaded the most. It’s the day YOU my darling turn one. I never thought that in those moments when we had our hardest times that it would come this fast. I thought time was passing by so slowly that it was never going to get any better than this. But it just keeps getting better with you. Every day. Every moment. Every squeal, snot, boogar, bath, meal, adventure... it keeps getting better and better. I wanted to give you something that you could remember forever for your birthday. And a toy was something I knew you would get sick of. So I hired a photographer to come and follow you around for a day to capture everything you like and don’t like to do. How you usually start your day is with a smile. Then we have breakfast, play time, and nap time. Repeat, wake up with smile, lunch time, play time, nap time. Repeat, wake up with smile dinner time, bath time, play time, night time. I could do this for a million years with you. But I know one day this schedule will change... you will change... time will change... I will change... papa will change... and something new will come. But I’m not living in the future I’m living in the now... with you. With all of your squishy thighs, hugs, cuddles, kisses, and 1 year old-ness. Can you please just slow down a little so mama can catch up with you? You’re growing so fast and learning so much. And becoming such a toddler... I wasn’t ready for this. I only prepared myself for a newborn and infant when you came into this world... but nothing in any book could prepare my heart for the impact you would have on me. I thought it’d just be me having an impact on you... but honesty it’s the other way around. Our time together seems to never end. Even when the sun goes down. We’re still enjoying a moment together or two. I’m trying to enjoy every second and just breathe it in as much as I can cause I know it’ll be gone in the next. But I’m thankful I can look back on moments like this and remember how we connected. Our family is better because of you. It’s bigger because of you. It has more love because of you. It has more joy because of you. It has less sleep because of you. It has more adventures because of you. We eat more. Play more. Hug more. Kiss more. And most of all pray a whole lot more because of you. We love you so so much little buddy. Happiest 1st birthday to you!!!! I hope you’ll enjoy your day today!!!!!!!! Sorry mama doesn’t believe in physical presents but physical presence so you’ll get an adventure of sorts today. Hahaha. Don’t be mad. You can buy your own toys when you make your own money one day. LOL! I love you so freaking much! Papa loves you just the same.
