Never in my life have I met someone more resilient than Kathleen. She and I met in college nearly over a decade ago, and we bonded quickly over the fact that our last names were alphabetical while assigned seating were arranged in our Biology Class at Orange Coast College. Her's is Chung, mine is Cho. It was a friendship that was meant to be. Over the years I've seen her endure some devastating hardships that no one should ever have to go through, but she continue to this day to be one of the strongest women in my life.
I'm incredibly inspired by her love for her sons, and for her her family. She is viciously loyal and faithful to the call of being a mother, daughter, sister, friend. I'm thankful for someone like her in my life because it encourages me to be the best mom I can be regardless of any circumstances to my son as well.
I believe everyone faces hard times in their lives, but it's how they decide to face them is the true test of their character.
So thank you Kathleen for being that source of light in my life to believe in the good when there seems to be none, and to hold on to hope when everything seems to draw to an end.
